– Microsoft Word Not Responding? 8 Ways To Fix It
I’m having quite an issue with Word not responding after the first print batch. It will say word is preparing to background print the document and then Word does not respond.
It was working fine until lately this was with updates in build I have uninstalled both MS office and my printer software and reinstalled it, making sure that I had the latest driver from the HP website.
I updated MS office thinking that might be the issue, but to no avail. Print wizard an HP support tool says that the spooler is affected. When I run it, it frees up Word so it can resume printing only one document, before not responding.
I thought maybe that build would fix this issue, but the problem remains. I feel that this is definitely a Windows problem. Does anyone have any ideas? Remember, it worked in the early stages of Interestingly printing from my Win7 Notebook to the same printer with the same Word doesn’t create this issue. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. I can feel your pain. That is an extremely annoying problem.
After waiting for two a week without a reply, I decided to surf the web to find the answer. This problem is not uncommon. It appears to stem from a driver issue between HP and Windows I found out that disabling ‘Printer Status Notifications’ seemed to do the trick. I also searched the web before posting here, but I guess I didn’t use the right keywords, only found this thread describing my exact issue.
Anyway, thank you a lot for your super quick reply, you solved my problem! Everything working flawlessly now, as it should. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.
